Work That Reconnects

“The Work That Reconnects helps people around the world discover and experience their innate connections with each other and the self-healing powers of the web of life, transforming despair and overwhelm into inspired, collaborative action.” -Joanna Macy, founder

Joanna Macy

While with her family in Tibet doing Peace work, Joanna Macy had developed a relationship with a local monk who shared with her this impactful prophesy of a time we are now in. So inspired by this prophecy, Macy endeavored to start an organization to support the work of those Shamble Rainbow Warriors.

The Shambhala Warrior prophecy, originating in Tibetan Buddhism, speaks of a time when the world faces grave danger due to humanity’s destructive tendencies. It foretells the emergence of “Shambhala warriors” – ordinary individuals who, armed with compassion and insight, will work to dismantle the destructive forces from within. This kingdom is not a physical place, but rather a state of mind and heart found within these individuals.
